New EP September 4th - Keep Your Guitar in a Dark Place EP

18.08.14

Release September 4th on iTunes and streaming services.

Keeping your guitar in a dark place is advice Captain Beefheart used to give to guitar players in his Ten Commandments of Guitar Playing. The commandments, which also include instructions for walking with the devil and listening to the birds, were used as an inspiration during the recording process in Norway and Sweden.

Palace of Pleasure have released six albums, of which two were awarded the Norwegian Grammy Award for best electronic/dance album. But guitars were always present in the band’s sound, which should please fans of Peaking Lights, The Orb, Primal Scream, Spiritualized, Bjørn Torske and early Cabaret Voltaire.

The EP cover photo, which shows a crumbling Palace of Pleasure, was taken by band member Justin Newall a short time before before Rhyl´s derelict Ocean Beach Fun Fair in North Wales was demolished.

Personnel: Sigmund Floyd, vocals, guitars, programming. Stian Torstenson: guitars, programming, etc. Justin Newall: bass, programming. Jørund Skaug: keyboards, programming
